Successful Management of the Cervicothoracic Spine


Utilizing the most up-to-date clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) as a framework, our course navigates the foundational knowledge and skill required to be excellent when managing cervicothoracic conditions. This course emphasizes the highest quality literature as a part of the pre-course content and the 2-day in-person intensive prioritizes individualized instruction and repetitious practice leaving the learner confident in applying the content immediately in their clinical context. Integrated into the course is literature supporting the safety of spinal manipulation, why it works, and technique instruction which leaves you confident in providing this skill therapeutically and effectively. This course meets the State of Washington Spinal Manipulation Endorsement continuing competency requirements per RCW  18.74.190.

Course Objectives

  1. Determine Appropriate Individuals Who Are Likely to Benefit from the Use of Manual and Manipulative Therapy Directed Towards the Cervicothoracic Spine.

  2. Integrate Best Evidence in Regards to the Safety & Screening for the Use of Thrust & Non-Thrust Manipulation for Managing Common Cervicothoracic Conditions.

  3. Display a Psychomotor Skillset and Increased Confidence in Delivering Safe & Effective Delivery of Thrust & Non-Thrust Manipulative Techniques to the Cervical and Thoracic Spine.

  4. Determine and Prescribe Appropriate Hands-On Therapeutic Exercise to Further Reinforce Manual Interventions in Managing Cervicothoracic Conditions.
